Looking through my archive and revisiting dresses is such a joy at the moment. I'm ready to start on new project designs and collections after an unsettled couple of years and a good way to start is to look at previous work.
I'm very much inspired by looking back and moving forward with new perspective.

The Autumn dress was made from a vintage piece of silk, woven in large plaid like squares in all the rich brown tones of Autumn. The colours make me think of crunchy bonfire toffee and creamy caramels on frosty nights.
This warm silk piece was used as a whole for the full skirt and bordered with black silk taffeta at the hem and topped with a bodice that cutaway the shoulders. This mash up of 20's, 30's and 50's cuts created the shaping, I love the full skirted dresses of the late twenties, the ballerina length hems and revealing bodices of the thirties. And the clean lines of 1950s elegance also come play in this dress, finished with a large detachable bow at the back for frivolity.
