Original vintage 1970s Black moss crepe and satin blouse jacket by fashion designer Ossie Clark.
An absolutely stunning example of Ossie Clark's design and cut skills. This blouse is from his own label collection and is simply exquisite in every detail.
The blouse has a plunging V neckline with cutaway shaped neck all edged with panel cut satin to contrast the texture of the matte moss crepe. The sleeves are full length and slim fitted and edged with the same slipper satin cuffs.
There are smocked gathers of the shoulders and and gathers to the fitted satin waistband. Very 1930s Art Deco Hollywood in design, the waist is nipped in and fastens with two buttons. From the fitted waist and flared peplum falls to the hips, edged again in the same satin paneling.
One of the most beautiful pieces of clothing I have every seen, the cut and construction are perfect.
Fastening: 2 buttons to the waist and a small black hook and eye a couple of inches up to ensure the neckline sits flat
Fabric: fine wool moss crepe and slipper satin
Label: Ossie Clark - own label made in London
Age: early 1970s
Condition: in excellent wearable condition. There were some added hooks and eyes to expand the waist that have been removed and the blouse has been restored back to its original design.
Some very very light wear to satin. No holes, marks or damage to note.
Please check all photos, I have tried to represent this piece as accurately as possible.
