Clara's prom dress was such a delight to work on. Clara tried on lots of vintage dresses in the boutique before settling on a perfectly suited tulle ballet skirt in a dove grey that we embellished with Swarovski crystals to match a vintage cocktail top. The top was a rare cropped beaded piece, I think originally designed to wear over a cocktail dress from the late 1950s. Made in white slipper satin and covered in silver beads with the most fabulous lucite buttons at the back.
My favourite part of Clara's dress was how she styled such an overtly pretty outfit with brown leather boots laced with silver ribbon and silver ankle socks. On her cheek were three silver stars and her curls tied up in a top knot, details all considered and beautifully understated.
