Wow, what a couple of months! I have just finished sewing the last piece of the A/W collection for Deadly. Started during lockdown No.1, I had no idea whether sequins would be a good thing to do but Claudia and Sarah reassured me that in times like these, Deadly is all about escapism. Similar to the MGM musical during the 40s to give viewers a moment of joy.
The collection leads on from last years velvet gowns which I adored with the addition of a sequin gown in black and navy blue, a navy blue version of the sequin scarlett, a black sheer lace pegnoir style gown, a red claudia gown which is so simple but stunning and a velvet long sleeved luxe cocktail dress.
I kept the numbers of each dress low, just what I could manage to sew and ensuring each remains special. It always amazes me that people are actually buying and wearing the dresses I sew here in my studio in Wells! Its a lovely feeling.
