'From The Source' Film by Paris and Tom Roche. 2026
This short film marks the start of a new direction and project. 'From the Source'.
I loved working with Paris and Tom and ideas flowed naturally with each of us having a different role. What worked best for me is that I could do my job knowing that Paris and Tom had the skills to make a great film sharing what I do.
They understood the ethos and really listened when I said I didn't want to be about me and to focus on the hands.
Hands are really important to this project. The dress appeared as I draped, the film represents the slower pace and dialogue with nature and environment I wanted. It was thanks to Paris's location suggestions that I felt even more inspired.
I love the eerie quality to film too, it was winter and the starkness we leant into. I kept thinking of the films The Piano and Man of Aran.
Enjoy this short film showing how I drape a dress. This will be followed by an exhibition and print publication later in July in Weston Super Mare, Somerset, UK.
