My Week - 29th March 2026

A series of blog posts rambling and documenting cool things I've seen, been inspired by and want to share each week. Instead of filling your inbox with another newsletter or your feed with more stuff.

Ok I'm getting into blogging again, it feels nice and fun!

This week up to the 29th March, another month already gone.

In the studio ....

Listed some gorgeous vintage pieces, check out the New Arrivals section.
Had a wonderful time styling it.

There were a few orders / alterations for Deadly is the Female and my hunt continues for the perfect polka dot and leopard print.
Did you know that all the dresses I make (including for deadly) can come back to me for free repairs and great value alterations?

Worked on a wedding dress for a very lovely customer overseas. It reminded me how much I love the shape of this particular design, one close to my heart and its got me inspired all over again.

Completed the next stage of the 'From the Source' dress. Its still under wraps but I added another layer of hidden sparkles that remind me of fish scales.

Last Sunday in the sunshine I photographed some quick still lifes of Spring flowers, the Magnolia and blossom was so incredibly beautiful.

This gorgeous vintage combo was ordered by a customer and I loved packing it up.

My ongoing love/hate relationship with social media ........ last moan promise!

'Social Media builds trust and relationships with customers by you showing up' 'social media is a great way to share your products as a small business' 'social media is a great way to connect with other creatives'.
Thanks google.
I do genuinely love seeing everyone else's posts on instagram, but I'd really love a few blogs or just a chic fashion / art version of instagram. How about that?

I bought a nokia flip phone and felt so cool for two days until I realised it was really hard work texting and doing anything and actually I really love my iphone?
The green flip was low key, cool and new and didn't scream at me for attention but when it came down to it, it was really boring. I ran straight back to my fabulous wonderful exciting chaotic iphone and told it how much I loved it. Now we're inseparable and I love my iphone harder.
Toxic, not at all!?

Honestly, the nokia was great for unplugging at the weekend, not reaching out 100 times a day out and focusing.
We have build so much dependance on our phones, from banking and payments to car parking, health, whatsapp messaging and photographing. Its a mini laptop that can do so much for so many.
Tech companies need to do much much much better, be more much more responsible and remember their customers aren't just for harvesting. It takes organisation to switch to a dumb feature phone but its not impossible at all.  Remember little purses too!

Meryl Streep in Heartburn by Nora Ephron. Costume design by the great Ann Roth.

Day Sleeper - Dorothea Lange curated by Sam Contis

Morning walk to the local church (there's nothing else in my village) but when the sun comes in it's like a disco!

Watched - Heartburn with Meryl Streep by Nora Ephron - Gorgeous, she wore the most beautiful cream crepe gown with a bow belt too.

Chilli Peppers Documentary - also on Netflix. Cool and sad, drugs steal creativity and the brightest people.

Tales of Frankenstein - a rare Hammer / Columbia TV pilot from 1958. It had the perfect late Friday night horror vibe with ample rain effects.

Listened to - Californication - Chili Peppers. This made a 5k run more zippy.

Book - The beautiful Day Sleeper Book lent to me by Paris Roche

Smell - FFern Autumn 2025 - this is appley and lovely and a Somerset brand :)

Taste - Licorice and mint tea

Did with my hands other than dresses, and the obvious ;)
Totally addicted to my phone again :(

Grateful for - My local hospital providing my bi annual MRI scan. Lying in a tube listening to Prince is the way to do it and the people at Weston General are wonderful, always. I'm lucky to still be here, being scanned.

Check your poo, any changes to your normal, blood, bloating, random vomiting, fatique, get it checked. You're never too young to have bowel cancer.

Poster in the MRI waiting room, MRI's are so cool!
