Oscars 2017 Best Dressed

I've deliberated about this years red carpet enough. It wasn't wow, but there were a small handful of stunning looks and gowns. These are the ones I've been thinking about most.

Ruth Negga in Oscar De La Renta. I love everything about this dress. Pearl white sequins with flashes of colour on the cleanest cut. Straight across bandeau neckline, cinched at the waist with a huge full skirt graduated at the hem. It looks so pretty and so sharp with the smoothest of lines. No distractions with necklaces, Perfection.

Kate Bosworth in that J Mendel tulle dress. I just keep coming back to it. The pale eau de nil tulle, the plunging neckline (thank god for that cleavage) and the simple black band keeps it striking and adult rather than sickly sweet.

Dakota Johnson in this simply stunning gown by Gucci. Slinky, black with a 1930s pink satin bow. I love the high contrast and the exquisite design of the bow. Ginger Rogers could have worn this.

Kiersey Clemons at the Vanity Fair party. I can't find the designer of this dress but doesn't she look stunning. So simple, ivory bias cut silk georgette in an Old Hollywood hourglass shape draped off the shoulder. She has the essence of Marilyn here.

Taraji P Henson in Alberta Ferretti. Midnight blue silk velvet with matching bag and I bet the shoes. Plunging, off the shoulder with a thigh high split but oh so elegant.

Cynthia Erivo in gown by Paolo Sebastian. On anyone else this would have been too much but with her cropped hair and modern style this works. Such a beautiful gown.

And finally this dress on Kirsten Dunst. The perfect black dress. Silk faille, Dior, of course.

I used to blog, a lot. Then we got busy and I didn't have time and it kind of went out of fashion and I lost the point. I recently was looking for blogs to read. Fashion blogs that weren't just 'look at all the stuff I buy and how great I look in it, in the beautiful place'. I wanted to see something more creative.

I then realised I shouldn't be moaning but contributing again. We have so much to share here at our little atelier. So more of what we do and what we love will be here. Maybe even daily?!
