Vintage Bridal Edit

Some beautiful new arrivals to the vintage bridal section. Weddings will happen again and in all shapes and sizes. I've always loved a small intimate affair that calls for a dress that is yours to treasure. Not necessarily just for weddings, these are some of my favourite vintage pieces in pale shades.

vintage white embroidered sheer lace 1930s style gown alexandra king

1980s White Embroidered Gown

This fabulous vintage 1980s sheer embroidered mesh gown that is channelling all the bias cut influences of the 1930s. I still can't decide if a matching skin tone slip will work better to show off the lace design. The shape is just gorgeous and no need for any accessories.

Vintage 1930s Ivory White Silk Satin Bias Cut Gown Old Hollywood Alexandra King

1930s Silk Satin Bias Cut Gown

An absolute dream of a 1930s silk satin crepe gown, the sleeves are perfection with beautifully finished cuffs. The edges are what get me excited about vintage, those fine techniques of finishing. Isn't it divine.

Vintage 1960s White Organza Mini Dress Alexandra King

1960s White Organza Mini Dress

I can just imagine a bride popping down the registry office for a quick afternoon marriage and prosecco in the park in this gorgeous 1960s mini dress. I love the sheer overlay and 3D floral embroidery.

Vintage 1920s Pink Couture Beaded Evening Alexandra KingTop

1920s Pink Couture Beaded Evening Top

This pink beaded top is a real treasure. I love beaded tops and love to keep a collection of vintage 50s and 60s pieces always in stock. But this is something else. Delicate pink glass beads, tambour embroidered to tulle in these perfect scallops. Made in the 1920s in France, the weight, drape and attention to detail makes this the original beaded bodice that inspired them all.
I wish it had a makers label as it must be a couture piece.

1930s Velvet Evening Top with pearl beaded bow.

1930s Velvet Evening Top with pearl beaded bow.

Another exquisite vintage bodice from the 1930s with the original racer back design and this big pearl beaded bow. I love bows and this is so gorgeous in pearls on the silk velvet.
The inside of the piece was almost as exciting lined in silk satin with a built in pink bra.
The lining is raw cut and I wondered if this was originally a dress but the hem of the bodice has a picot edge and I'm not too sure. It would have been amazing as a dress too.

Vintage 1950s cream chiffon pleated ballet skirt alexandra king

1950s Cream Chiffon Ballet Skirt

This early 1950s cream pleated chiffon ballet skirt was found at a vintage fair and I was told it came from a theatre company. Its so simple, delicate pleats on a black velvet waistband. I love the contrast of the black and the cream.

1960s white vintage faux fur jacket Dr Zhivage Russsian style

1960s White Faux Fur Jacket

And finally this fabulous faux fur jacket from the 1960s. So Dr Zhivago, its a great snug cut and I love the huge collar. Would be great with the mini dress and matching faux fur hat and muff!
